Works with so many outfits to "dress down" a bit. Great layering for winter. If you're in a freezing city in the US like me, an indoor layer. Other than information in description being incorrect, a great jacket. Will get a ton of use.

Honestly just get your size or size up for it it fit like it does in the pic. I ordered my usual size thinking it would be oversized since that’s what it said and it’s kinda too small. the sleeves are super short & above my wrist and it’s long but low key super fitted. Usually when Madewell says over size it’s actually oversized so.. not sure what happened here. Ordering a bigger size.

Loved the oversize look for this. If you want to layer with a thicker sweater underneath, it's best to go a size up. I thought it was oversized so I bought an XS and it was fitted. I am usually a xs/s in Madewell. I went with a Medium and I was able to layer with a thick sweater underneath for these chilly days. With the sale price and additional sale off, it's a deal.

This chore coat has a great look to it and is good quality overall. The denim is heavy weight and non-stretch so it has a more structured look. I am 5’7” and usually take a small in Madewell and order an extra small in this. The sleeves go right to top of my wrists (which I prefer) and even though the fit is closer due to me sizing down, I could definitely still layer but just not with a thick sweater. The description is misleading though- the pockets are NOT side pockets with double entry. They are the lower front pockets that you see on the pic. They close with a button at the top and have no side entry. I really wish it did have true side pockets as I wouldn’t want to keep the pockets unbuttoned all the time in order to use them. I like it but don’t love it because of the pocket issue. Unfortunately will probably have to return and hope they re-release with side pockets!
