Detailed Information - How the Permaseal System™ Works

#1. Superior Adhesion to Concrete Surfaces

Adhesion of the Permaseal System is enhanced through the use of proper surface preparation in combination with Madewell® 927™ 100% Solids Penetrating Epoxy Primer.

Madewell® 927™ penetrates the surface of the concrete and cures to strengthen the surface of the concrete for superior adhesion. diagram of how the permaseal system works

    #2. Low Permeability Barrier Topcoat

Madewell® Permaseal Platinum™ topcoat has been specifically formulated to create a low permeability moisture barrier. This is accomplished, in part, through the use of multiple types of platelet shaped laminar pigments which block the passage of moisture vapor through the coating film.

Because Madewell® Permaseal Platinum™ is 100% Solids, it contains no solvents or diluents (such as water) which must find their way out of the coating during cure. The result is a dense and tightly crosslinked barrier coating that effectively blocks moisture vapor transfer to a level well below that required by most flooring manufacturers.
