A LEATHER JACKET LOVE STORY, FEATURING BIKER AMINA EL ETREBY

Once we learned we were launching a badass new leather jacket, we knew we had to find someone equally badass to show it off. Enter Amina El Etreby, an NYC-based script supervisor whose transportation of choice is a supercool motorcycle. We had her take the jacket for a spin, then got her thoughts about how it felt wearing it on the road.

Okay, which came first for you: the motorcycle or the leather jacket?

The leather jacket. My very first one was a hand-me-down from my mom maybe 20 years ago. I’ve collected five others since—and I’ve been riding for seven years now.

Ah, love a mom hand-me-down. So where are some of your favorite places to ride?

To the beach! But also to work—it’s the perfect commute. And whenever I get the chance, I escape down to Virginia and ride around the beautiful country roads of Clarke County.

Coolest commute ever. Now let’s talk about the jacket—what do you think?

It feels fantastic! I love the softness, length and fit. It’s perfect for riding because I can layer up under it.

How do you like to style it?

With black or light blue jeans, probably a metal band T-shirt, a flannel or hoodie if it’s cold, and my black western boots or my favorite motorcycle boots from Breaking Hearts and Burning Rubber.

Classic! Lastly, what would you tell someone who feels they can’t “‘pull off”’ the leather look?

There’s nothing better than a trusted leather jacket. Once you find the one that fits like a glove, you won’t think twice about whether you can pull it off or not!
