I am usually 25 or 25p for Madewell jeans. By reading the reviews, I was worried that my regular size would be too tight. Since it was the only size left, I took a chance to purchase it. Glad I did because it was perfect for me. I would have chosen petite if it were available, though (I am 5'2", 105 lbs). The balloon shape is not overwhelming for my petite figure and I don't think I look like a teenager either. I also like the rinse wash because I could dress up a little. Lastly, it was on sale so the cost performance was excellent for me. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

I love this style of jeans! I will say that the sizing between washes is not consistent for these pants. I tried on another wash and found the lighter wash ran a bit larger in the hips. For this reason, I'd suggest trying on in person if possible or be prepared to make a return/exchange. The denim has very little stretch which I personally appreciate.

I ordered the balloon jeans in this wash, Noll, and Corson and did a direct comparison. For some reason the waist on just this wash is smaller in the exact size for the same style of jeans. I love the wash and the cut---would just recommend to everyone to size up in comparison to others of the same style.

Love the style, shape and fabric of these jeans. They do run pretty small, I ended up sizing up 2 sizes. They only stretch out a tiny bit around the waist. Wish they were longer and not so cropped, then they would be perfect. Overall I really like the shape and style.

I love the style of these jeans, and the darker but still vibrant wash was exactly what I was looking for. the length hits perfectly at my ankle. however, when I tried on another pair of the same style in store, they were a big large so I sized down to a 23 when ordering these online...they're a bit uncomfortable when sitting down and I wish I had gone with a 24. the sizing between washes and styles could be more consistent, I've never been a size 23 in my life.

I've purchased this specific wash of balloon jeans more than once due to my own changing sizes. However, they really have ZERO stretch. They also aren't true to size. If anything, I'd recommend buying at least two sizes up from your regular size to ensure they fit comfortably, especially if you have hips or thighs. If you can find the sweet spot for your sizing though, they're a great pair to have in your wardrobe.

I found these to be very tight on my hip and butt area but loose on the waist. I love this denim wash and quality but I will unfortunately be returning these .

Was super excited to try my first pair of ballon jeans and style them. When I received this pair and slipped them on. I realized it fit everywhere but my waist. They were so tight I had trouble buttoning up. I checked the size, compared them to my other jeans from Madewell, and then looked at the reviews. If you're still doubting what size to get: SIZE UP. These jeans come extremely tight and I'm debating on returning them or if I'd liked to stretch them out. Super sad that there also isn't a bigger size for these jeans. These ballon jeans don't feel very inclusive of all body types. Not sure if I'll buy ballon jeans from Madewell again.

I loved the color, the fact that these pants had a zipper, and the weight of the denim. I was so, so excited about these, but the sizing is wildly off. I've bought other balloon jeans from Madewell and when I held these up against others of the same size, the waistline was 2 inches smaller. I had to check the tag to make sure I hadn't gotten the wrong size, given how small they were. I wish I could exchange these for the next size up, but they're sold out. Back they go.
