Picture this—it’s a beautiful, sunny weekend in LA and we got the chance to spend it with local photographer and artist David Kitz. He showed us some of his favorite spots and chatted about everything from his personal style to what inspires him, all while wearing our comfy Everywear Shorts.
Hi David! Let’s hop right into it. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I'm a photographer and artist. I live and work in Los Angeles with my wife and our two sons.

How’d you get your start in photography?
I started taking photos when I was in high school, but it wasn't until I went to art school at UCLA that I really fell in love with it.
What does a typical day look like for you?
The boys wake us before the sun is up so it's always coffee first. On a good day, I’ll head out for a surf and then head to my studio to work. One of the great things about my job is that every day is different. Sometimes I’m on set all day, other times I’m sourcing props or looking for inspiration.
Speaking of inspiration, where do you get yours from?
Maybe this is cliché, but inspiration can come from almost anything: an object I see on someone's desk, the color of a car that drives by, a set from a film, an old bottle of soda or something I find that's washed up on the beach.
What would you say is the best part of your job?
I think the best part of my job is that I'm always being asked to try new things to create something that doesn't exist yet.
Okay, last question since you wore them all weekend long. What’s your favorite thing about the Everywear Short?
It's kinda in the name, isn't it? I can wear them anywhere and do just about anything in them. But the main reason I like them is the fit.
