Oh hey, new decade. Rather than committing to a workout plan or dealing with budget stuff, we’re ringing in the ’20s with a fresh set of style goals. Let’s see how members of our team switch things up.
JULIE, DENIM DESIGN DEVOTEE
USUAL STYLE:
I wear a lot of black and white, only adding little pops of color here and there.
NEW RESOLUTION:
Brighten things up–this allover floral print is definitely different, but I still feel like me thanks to the black jacket and boots.
THE VERDICT:
I look gooood! I’m willing to wear anything that makes me feel great, so I’ll stick with my resolution and be more adventurous going forward.
DAMANI, TECH WHIZ
USUAL STYLE:
I typically go for a more urban look, and heavy on denim.
NEW RESOLUTION:
Take a break from jeans and try out some new fabrics.
THE VERDICT:
I’m really happy with the change. In addition to losing the denim, the fit of the pants and the roll at the ankle are really refreshing. I’m more open to expanding my outfit ideas now, for sure.
IMANI, STORE VISUAL VIRTUOSO
USUAL STYLE:
I tend to keep things pretty relaxed and tomboy-ish.
NEW RESOLUTION:
Dress girlier with pieces that feel a little more ~pretty~.
THE VERDICT:
Into it! The flowy skirt and Mary Janes have just enough of a feminine touch without overdoing it. I’ll definitely continue experimenting this year.
TRAVIS, STORE DESIGN EXPERT
USUAL STYLE:
Sporty, preppy or tailored… and sometimes a combo of all three. I love playing with color and have never met a shade of yellow that I didn’t like.
NEW RESOLUTION:
Go from maximalist to minimalist with a transition to tonal neutrals.
THE VERDICT:
Love. It. The monochromatic pieces are so easy to wear together—and with all the different textures going on I don’t feel like I’m missing out on any fun.
