This has been such a favorite warm, versatile layer through the winter and in unpredictable transitional seasons. When I don't feel like committing to an entire big cozy sweater, this is so easy to just throw on and know that I'll still be warm enough. The colors and the plaid pattern are so easy to mix into any outfit of mine, and the boiled wool sheds water nicely in the rain. I ended up getting another as a gift for my mom, and she feels the same way about hers!

I now own 4 different boiled wool jackets from Madewell. I ordered smalls but had to return because an x small is a better fit as they run large. I wear them all the time in Fall, Winter and early Spring. They r warm, breathable and classy looking. They are good for casual days and for dressing up too. Good job Madewell! Another great product that is beautifully made.

As a larger person (tall and not "slim") I always worry that this style of jacket will be unflattering on me, and result in me looking larger, and fit incorrectly on the shoulders and sleeves. I was super excited that this was not the case with this item, it was cute and flattering, and I received compliments on it! Also happy to report that it is quite warm, which made it perfect for cooler fall days.

Picked up this gem after trying it on in the store and fell in love. This shacket is SO very soft & cozy! I love the length and fit. I got my usual MW size, xsmall, and it fits perfectly (slightly oversized as described). My only qualm is that there are no side pockets, which is a bummer, but not a deal breaker for me. Perfect fall staple for going out or just keeping cozy around the house!

Really like the soft and subdued color palette. It's very soft (almost like flannel) and stretchy. It does run slightly large on me but not enough to go down a size - I prefer a looser fit.

Loved the color, loved the style, loved the fit, loved everything about it! It does run large so size down; I’m usually a Small in coats but got this in an XS and could still easily, comfortably layer with a sweater under it. Saw this in the Brown but please make them in other plaid colors! Super comfy and warm so definitely a worthy Fall coat.

This is a really comfy shirt-jacket. I'd say it's more of a sweater-jacket, which I wasn't expecting when I bought it. The material is a nice boiled wool that is warm without being overly so. I like the colors - muted green/blue shades, something a little different for fall. It's a great layering piece if your house is cold in the non-summer months like mine! I got my normal size medium (I'm an 8 in most shirts) and found it fits well. I tried a large too and thought it looked too big on me. The collar is a little larger than most shirt jackets I have but it doesn't bother me. It has pilled a bit on the sleeves, but I was expecting that - I'll just use my sweater comb on it. I find myself reaching for this item frequently as a cozy layer. Happy with this purchase!
