The weave of the yarn is firm and not overly stretchy (53% cotton) but that leaves the fabric to breathe well and can be dressed with flats for spring/fall, or tights and boots for winter/late fall. Not sure I would've bought it at full price, but at final sale it was a good value. I'm usually a L (waist 34") but bought XL as it was last left on sale, with the worry it'd be sliding off my hips... Not at all, perfect fit, not overly tight nor loose. Not sure how it will pill up with washing just yet, but based on high cotton content, probably avoid hot water or dryer.

This skirt is very good quality and such a cute skirt. It is a pretty thick sweater material which I like. It is very flattering, doesn’t show all my lumps and bumps. Super comfortable.

For reference 5'1" 135 tried xxs and xs. Both fit. Although the waist of the xs was a bit smaller than the xxs waist. Quality control? So you may want to try on a few pair before making a decision. Overall this skirt checks every box and can be worn so many ways. The fabric is soft and thick and fits like the model.

I like the idea of a sweater skirt and was happy to get this one on sale. It's a little unflattering around the tummy, but will be fine with the right top. Knocking off one star on style because it would be cuter and more practical with slits on the side. I also wish that Madewell didn't use synthetic fibers in their knitted garments.

I wouldn't pay full price on this garment, but it was worth the sale price. Due to the knit, you will need a light pair of undies or maybe a slip. I went with a size small and it's maybe a bit slimmer fitting than I'd like, but I suspect the knit will stretch a bit since it's a cotton blend. For reference, I'm usually a size 26/27 in madewell jeans, size 29" waist, 40 low hip.
