I have a small-ish waist, a long rise, and a full bottom and thighs, and shorts tend to constrict me and cut off the circulation in my thighs or ride up unflatteringly if there isn't enough room...I'm also very active and like to be comfortable when sitting down. These shorts are a blessing. I feel so attractive in them, and my body looks more proportionate, with my waist nipped in. The leg openings are perfect and make my thighs look smaller. But best of all I'm free to move and sit however I like with no risk of showing more than I wish. I only wish they were available in more colors. The salmon pink is cute but it reminds me a bit of the early '90s. I'd love to have these in an army green or khaki, or rust color, also in white! Short season is almost over, but PLEASE Madewell bring this style back next year in more colors. For reference I usually wear a 27 in Madewell jeans and I ordered a 4, which is my normal Madewell pant size as well. The fit is perfect, as usual.

Super cute cut and design. Leg opening fits very wide, but overall a very nice alternative to a more simple straight leg short. Easy to dress up or down.

I bought these for my daughter who likes the late "80's/90's look. The pleats to fitted waist ratio is spot on. The legs have a nice wide opening so the pleats lay flat. And the length is modest without being dowdy. Also the pinky peach color. is lovely. These were a homerun!

Please make these in every color possible! These shorts are insanely cute and so comfortable! You can wear them with a blouse and look very polished, or with a cute tee tucked in and keep it casual. Either way, you’re going to look good!

I love the laid back fit & feel of these shorts. The pink color is precious & the fit is incredibly flattering. I purchased the size 6—I have a smaller waist and a slightly larger bottom— I have not had a pair of shorts that fit me everywhere in a long while. They’re such a comfortable vintage style I’m pretty sure I will live in them this summer.

I have been looking for options that aren't jean shorts and aren't the paper-thin paper bag shorts. These fit the bill. They are great if you're on the curvy side and actually have room for your thighs so you don't squish out when you sit down. The only downside that I would say I've experienced is that if you're walking around a ton, the pleated front can adjust and look a little puffy (like a pantaloons vibe) but then you just pull on the bottoms a bit and they are back to normal. I will 100% be buying whatever similar styles Madewell comes out with in the future. I am 5'7 and wear a size 8. Rough measurements are 29' waist and 41' around my tooshie. These are true to size and go with pretty much everything.

These are great! I sized up to make sure the legs were roomy enough (I'm usually a 4 and I ordered a 6) and they're very comfy this way, but loose around the waist. This works for me because I wear them with a belt anyway, but would recommend ordering TTS. I've worn them twice and gotten lots of compliments both times! Great option for non-jean shorts, especially for curvy girls who have a small waist and big booty like me :)
