Do yourself a favor and go with the nubuck leather (which is a softer leather option). Quality is great. Color (deep marshallow) is amazing. So happy I was able to catch on sale. Only complaint just like a few other customers mentioned, is during the colder winter months the straps tend to be harder to uphold due to coat. Madewell pls make straps an inch longer due to heavy material/coats. Other than that, tote bag is a great everyday staple and perfect for work and travel.

I own these in three colors (brown, beige and black), and gosh darn it, these new fall colors may need to be added to my rotation. I've used this to fly recently and managed to fit: two 15 inch macs, a tablet, a dlsr, a lens, all the cords, and a battery pack for my phone. You will never need anything else ever again. I will note, I got caught in a snowstorm with my black tote and it ended up bleeding onto my beige coat. Pretty sad about that; but haven't had transfer problems apart from that one time.

I purchased this tote in Marigold to have as a summer bag (my winter bag is also Madewell, of course) and I was so pleasantly surprised! The leather is buttery soft, a beautiful color, and incredibly sturdy. So happy I have found this bag!

I researched this bag for a long time before buying it in the blue color (forgotten sea)!! I was really just on the fence about the color because I didn't know if I'd love the blue in person, but it's amazing!!! It fits everything I need including my laptop and extra change of clothes and accessories! I love the open top for accessibility and the leather is high quality! Out of all the bags I own this is my favorite! Don't hesitate on getting this bag - you need it!

love love love this bag, love this color and the style. Holds a ton of things including my 17 inch mac book. which was a HUGE plus! only complaint i would have is i wish the straps were slightly bigger. the straps are tight when i wear my thick winter coat with it.
