Was looking for a lace up boot in brown. Thought the leather Patti lace up was what I needed but when I arrived - I didn’t care for the tone or quality of the leather; returned it and got this instead. The boot is chic. The cut of the boot and tone of the suede is exactly what I needed. I am an 8 and that’s the size I got. It will feel a little tight a first but I just loosened the lace at the beginning. Some people complained about the laces not staying tied- I’ve had no issues. So far I have gotten a ton of compliments on them. I’ve paired them with slacks and a blazer (pictured) for work, jeans and dresses and the boot brought every outfit together in the ideal way and was the standout piece. It gives me the right amount of height and support. Make the purchase; you won’t regret it.

I am in love with these boots! I have wider feet, and these fit comfortably. I also bought one size up, because I wanted to be able to wear thick socks. I’m glad that I sized up because the fit is perfect. They’re also very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t have to break them in. They’re very well made, and I think they’re worth the price. Definitely my new favorite boots.

These are one of the best pairs of boots I've bought from Madewell. They are so comfortable even on first wear. I have received a lot of compliments on them already and haven't had them for a month yet. The only thing I noticed when I received them in the mail is the right boot had a scratch in the top toe area of the suede, it wasn't too bad but for the price I wish the material they were packed in was gentle so during transit they wouldn't get messed up. Other than that these are beautiful boots.

I normally wear a 7.5 and size up with any boot so that I can wear thick socks. These feel great regardless of the thickness of the sock I'm wearing. Seems well made. The laces are a bit tight, in that you really have to loosen a lot of them to take the boot on/off, but other than that slight annoyance, this is the perfect boot.

Other reviewers mentioned wanting a zipper on these but I think that would have ruined the style for me. If you loosen up the laces a little extra, it’s not difficult to slip on. They are already pretty comfortable but I imagine that with more wear, the material will loosen up a bit too. I really like the color as I can see that helping transitioning these boots past the fall and winter. Madewell shoe sizing can vary in my experience but these fit true to my usual size.

I've been buying Madewell boots for years and have no complaints. The quality is great, style is great, and the shoes are always so comfortable straight out of the box. Can't wait until it gets a little cooler so I can wear them all the time!

Dec 04, 2021Great boots, missing feature
Love these boots. They are stylish and fairly comfortable. I'm still debating if I should have gone up a half size from my normal size because as most madewell shoes, these are feeling a bit tight especially since I have a wider foot. They are okay with a thin sock but I would need a 1/2 above my normal if I wanted to wear regular or thicker socks. One key feature that madewell doesn't design on their boots is the back side pull tab and i just can't understand why. Love madewell shoes and boots but really annoying they never have the pull tab, which would be super helpful and would also help preserve the boot shape by being able to have the leverage to pull in vs. having to stand and squish your foot in scrunching and squishing the boot and leathers. Madewell please add this common feature to your boots and then definitely 5 stars!
