Not sure why this necklace is getting such negative reviews. The chain is 16 inches, which is normal for a necklace of this style and isn't necessarily a choker. While dainty, the necklace chain itself is sterling silver, hence the higher price tag. The necklace is beautifully made and I always think daintier chains are hard to find, so I love how tiny this one is. With care, it should last ages!

The pendant is super tiny. I love Madewell, but I wish they would take better images of their jewelry. I never learn, but the pendants on all of their necklaces always come so so so small and not what I expected. The pendant on this necklace is maaaaybe the size of my pinky nail and that's being generous. I love that it's a crescent moon, I've been really into Madewell's star and moon themed pieces recently but I just wish the pendant on this necklace was bigger.

Feb 14, 2019Nice necklace but pendant isn't heavy enough
This was perhaps a flaw in my own reasoning that this necklace could be different than similar necklaces I'd purchased in the past. I'm constantly adjusting it throughout the day because the clasp moves to the front and the moon pendant gets stuck on it. The necklace itself is very cute, and I like the juxtaposition of the silver and gold, but I'll continue my search for a simple necklace that isn't more annoying than it's worth.

I was super excited to receive this in the mail, it's really dainty with a thin chain and a small charm, which is exactly what I wanted! Once I took it out of the little cardboard case it came in, I realized that the chain looked a little small, but I put it on anyway. It's almost a choker, it doesn't even hang below my collar bones! It looks normal on the mannequin in the photo, but don't be fooled like I was! 16inches is not very long for a necklace. Unless you are super tiny (like I could give this to my 5 year old daughter), maybe it'll be fine. Otherwise it will sit in an awkward place and not be comfortable.

I bought this in the store and did not realize how short it was until after I already opened it. They had no necklaces on mannequins either which didn’t help. Additionally, the packaging did not say how long the chain was. I should have asked but I have no idea why would make the chain this short. It’s essentially a choker on me and when I wear it with very high-necked tops you can’t see it. It keeps going under the fabric and it isn’t long enough to wear on the outside of the fabric (like a turtleneck or a mock neck). Avoid this unless you’re buying it for a child

This is a very small necklace, delicate, and cheap looking. The silver chain and gold pendant is a great look but this necklace would be too small on a newborn baby. It will break very easily and so small, you can barely see it. More money was spent on the packaging than the necklace.
