Bought it for my partner. The retro design was minimal and caught my eye. He says it’s a comfy weekend sweater and can be used for an intentional retro clean look for his meetings. He’s a medium but the sweater had a slight oversized slouchy look. I wished that there was a version for women too. I would have bought an xs size for myself but I’d be swimming in that fit.

Wonderful sweater. The style and design are beautiful and the color is really gorgeous in person. It is especially complementary on warm skin tones. The checkerboard texture is also very neat and I really like how it's incorporated into the construction and not a print.

Was a first time purchase from Madewell. Was extremely impressed with the quality, design and fit. Fits nicely and feels roomy for a size M but not overly baggy. Also decided to buy the same sweater in the gold yellow color. Keeps me nice and warm in the cold Minnesota winter.

Bought this for my husband last winter and he absolutely loves it. The checkered design is subtle statement, but definitely noticeable. He receives compliments every time he wears it! It's not too heavy but still warm. One downside is the maintenance-- it pills & sheds easily and is dry clean only.

I bought this for my partner who is usually a madewell M, but this sweater was huge! Still looks good but it's too large to wear to work if that makes sense. If you're going for an oversized look stick to your normal size but if in doubt size down. The fabric is super soft and seems warm. The pattern is great!
