Awesome everyday bag to carry in the summer. More of a black than dark blue color . Will go with everything. Nice leather handles ! Excellent quality!

When I received this bag, I was worried it would be too big. I decided to try it for a day or two. I love it! It fits all my day-to-day items, including the book I happen to be in the midst of reading and my daily journal. Because of the zipper pocket and two side pockets, things don't get lost and it's easy to stay organized. I don't know how I got along without it.

I am thrilled with this purchase. The bag is the perfect size as a med/large tote, the pattern looks fantastic, it is "well made" and very attractive. I got exactly what I was expecting, no surprises.

The fabric on this bag is so pretty - much prettier in person. I loved everything about this bag except its size. Just too big for me to use on an everyday basis. Please make a smaller bag in this fabric!

Mar 27, 2014Cute bag but has a design flaw
This is the first item I have ever purchased from Madewell, but I am not sure I would buy anything again. This bag, while really cute, has a big design flaw (at least for me), making it almost unusable. The straps on the bag are sewed in such a way that the upper part of the bag folds down if you put anything in it. So, basically, the whole upper band of leather cannot be seen while carrying the bag, because it is folded inward inside the bag. The straps should have been sewed directly onto the leather at the top, so this would not happen. Unfortunately, it makes the bag look ugly and it all doesn't fold down in an even way, it's all crooked. I'm not happy with the design at all. Also, no snap or zipper or closure of any kind to prevent things inside from falling out.
