I have always wanted a buffalo check coat but hesitated to purchase the regular boxy flannels that are commonly available. This coat is a fun hybrid of the check fabric with stylish tailoring. I am 5 feet 4 1/2 inches tall and 125 lbs, curvy in shape, and the size 4 fits perfectly. If you are looking for a comfortable, warm and light coat, look no further. At first, I was nervous ro wear it on colder days. It just felt too light to keep the cold out. But, to my surprise, it stands up to a north east winter cold. Not sure how they did it, but glad they did. I love this coat. Really cool! Only criticism: sleeve zippers unzip 1/3 of the way easily, but not an issue.

I love this coat. I usually wear a small or size 4 and I ordered the 4. It fits perfectly and is so comfortable and warm. For reference, I am 5'9 and 127lbs and a 32DD. i have long arms and hate when sleeves are too short. These are perfect. Having read the other reviews, I guess I lucked out on the sizing because I ordered this online.

I love these coats! I have the solid-colored (Dark Cabernet) City Grid coat which I feel runs true to size, but I find that this one runs larger. I am normally a size 0 in Madewell clothes and a size 0 in the solid-colored city grid coat, but I ordered size 00 in this plaid coat, and it fits perfectly! I found that the plaid and the tweed City Grid coats run larger. For reference, I am 5'1", 120 lbs, and have a large chest.

This coat has a nice fit, great details like the zipper on the sleeves, but it runs quite large. I probably could have ordered 2 sizes down. Tried it on, felt warm and the material was good quality. Sad to return, but I live outside the US and too much hassle to exchange.

For reference, I'm 34B, 115 lb, 5'5'', purchased 0 and 2, but I returned both. I own several cocoon coats from different brands so far, so I know how a cocoon coat should fit and how to wear one. I wanted to love this coat from Madewell, but I could't. the material is good, worth the price (bought it when on sale). but the black parts on the sleeves making the coat looking wired, especially when putting on. and the large red-black plaid making me look fat (since the coat itself already has a loose+round fit)... try it at a store first, hope you'll find your perfect fit.

I ordered two sizes - one my usual size and one smaller. Both were huge. The jacket was quality, but the fit was so off base it was a waste of time! If you order, consider two or three sizes down.
